10 Non-Tech Jobs That You Can Do Remotely

Did you think you needed to be a tech geek fluent in Python, JavaScript, or C Language in order to score a great remote job? You’ll be happy to know that you don’t need a degree in computer science or years of tech experience to be successful. There are plenty of non-tech jobs that you can do remotely that offer unique career opportunities. 

1. Account executive

There are abundant remote work opportunities in sales. Account executives work with new and existing customers and need skills such as an outgoing personality, a proven track record in sales, and skill in presenting online demos and presentations, and there are a wide variety of companies hiring online account executives and sales people. 

2. Writer

Freelance writers can make a great living online while working remotely. There are many different copywriting web sites that provide content and writing of all kinds. A few of these are Constant Content, Textbroker, Verblio, and Scripted. While you will need excellent grammar, writing, and research skills, you don’t need any tech skills.

3. Nurse case manager

Licensed nurses can pursue a remote career in nurse case management and not have to be on their feet all day. These online nurses provide telephone support to assess, coordinate, and implement patients care. They can also provide evaluations and advice over the phone, and no tech skills beyond basic computer knowledge is required. 

4. Social media manager

Many companies are looking for remote workers to handle their social media presence. In fact, this is one of the most common non-tech remote working jobs available, because social media is a key part of a businesses marketing strategy. Remote social media managers write compelling posts and find interesting pictures and media that will draw and engage customers. 

5. Accountant

Remote accounting jobs are available for experienced accounting professionals who want to work from home. Remote accountants support small businesses infrastructure by outsourcing services like bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Put your love of numbers to use and get a high-paying remote job as an online accountant.

6. Human resources

Remote HR workers handle inquiry calls and solve problems using online case management systems. Human resource managers need strong written and verbal communication skills, administrative skills, and the ability to juggle several tasks at once. If you love a challenge and have hands on experience in the human resources field, this is the remote job for you. 

7. Executive assistant

Virtual executive assistants are becoming the norm as technology frees people from their offices. An executive’s personal assistant doesn’t even have to be in the same country to handle scheduling, business calls, and travel arrangements. You will need a pleasant personality, top-notch organizational skills, and basic computer skills to be a success in this position. 

8. Customer service representative

More and more call centers are going remote, with workers spread all over the world instead of in a giant, cubicle filled space. Remote customer service agents handle everything from taking orders to fielding complaints, all from the comfort of their own homes.

9. Translator

If you have no technical skills but know a second language, there are fantastic remote employment opportunities as a translator. Many websites are dedicated to translation and captioning services, and they are always hiring remote workers. 

10. Data entry

Online data entry is a hot work-from-home career that requires no technical skills. Transcribing audio, inputting customer records, and captioning audio all fall under the data entry category of remote work. 

As this list makes clear, there is no need to be a techie to get a fantastic remote job. There are plenty of rewarding remote careers that require no tech skills whatsoever.
