Rolling Remote

Rolling remote with Missy Davies

Running a successful business while living abroad is what many Remoters dream of.

Missy does just that. As an American living in Italy, she makes her living running a Facebook ad agency called Social Factor Marketing. She works with small businesses–particularly those in the health and fitness industry–to generate leads for their business.

When she’s not chatting with clients or staying organized (her biggest productivity tip), she walks Bologna’s historic city streets for a dose of clarity and balance.

Missy’s workspace setup and decor

Where’s your favorite place to work?

There’s a local American-style coffee shop that I love to work from in Bologna. It reminds me of home and sometimes those big comfy chairs and a tall latte are just what I need to be productive.

What features do you like most about your work space?

I love being able to hop outside and walk through the historic city center of Bologna whenever I need a break. Since I have such a modern job working with social media, it’s nice to be able to hop outside and walk through a medieval city. It’s this pattern that often gets me back in the creative head space I like to be in to get work done!

What software technologies do you use on a regular basis?

Asana, G Suite, ClickFunnels, Active Campaign, Zoom, Calendly

What habit allows you to be more productive during the day?

Staying organized! I put absolutely everything into my Asana dashboard. I separate my to-do’s into different categories like sales, marketing, client work, and executive so I can keep tasks separate and all sides of the business moving forward.

What are the 3 items you can’t live without while working remotely? (If you have a brand you love, please name them!)

  1. I love my Apple AirPods! I make a lot of phone calls to talk to prospective and current clients, so it’s really nice having a hands free option that allows me to type and take notes while I talk.
  2. I couldn’t live without my KÅNKEN backpack. It’s the perfect size and allows me to tote around my laptop and notebook to my work location of the day. It’s compact and durable so it’s ideal for someone like me, always biking around town and on the go.
  3. My wireless Logitech mouse is also super helpful. The battery life is unreal and it saves my wrists the repetitive pressure from over-clicking on my laptop trackpad!
