Raluca lives and works in Bucharest, Romania, but she connects clients in Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia from her home office. She owns her own marketing agency where she creates and implements marketing strategies for B2B companies, mostly in event marketing. Her job is to increase event attendance, generate leads, and develop her client’s digital presence.
Below, she gets honest about the pros and cons of working remotely and shares photos of the furry coworkers she works with each day.
How many years have you worked remotely? 2 1/2 years
Where are you based? Bucharest, Romania
Where do you spend most of your remote work hours? In my home office
When are you most productive? Afternoon
Coffee or tea? Cappuccino. Technically still coffee, but with less of that strong taste of coffee I don’t really fancy.

What features do you like most about your work space?
I would say the best feature of my home office is the two second commute. It snowed all night yesterday, so when I woke up, it was looking lovely, but hard to navigate. I got in my car since I had to run some errands and the announcer asked for people to text about their trip to work that morning. That’s when I thought that yeah, I got up, opened the door from my bedroom and stepped into my office so not too bad, thank you.
Add to this that I can do chores in any down time I get through the day, like starting the washing machine, or cooking something quickly and this means that when work is over, it’s really over. Nothing left to do but enjoy the evening, go to the gym, go out with friends, without having to spare time for life admin stuff or travelling to and from work.
My home office is also as quiet or as loud as I need it to be. If I’m doing something repetitive, I can play music or if I need to focus on something creative, I can shut every noise down, since there are no loud colleagues around.
